Education Abroad at Colorado State University continuously strives to be a leader in international education for Colorado and the nation. Housed under the umbrella of the Vice Provost of International Affairs, we promote engaging, educational international opportunities which foster student success, safety, and growth in order to further the University’s land grant mission of access for all.

Our unit facilitates education abroad experiences in study, research, internship, service learning and other academic experiences for more than 1,600 Colorado State University students annually. We offer over 1,000 program options through our open portfolio of exchanges, faculty and staff-led groups, academic partnerships, and affiliated program providers.

Education Abroad at CSU invests in the success of our students; to this end, we create programming and processes that prepare our students and enrich their experiences abroad and upon return. We support CSU faculty and staff in the creation and execution of CSU-grown international student experiences. Through our strong ties and collaborations with campus partners including academic departments and colleges, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Risk Management, Student Diversity Programs and Services, and student success offices, we are able to ensure more productive and positive experiences for our students. We are proud that CSU students are able to receive over $600,000 of education abroad scholarships annually, including a strategic need-based award for first generation college students.

Position Summary

 

The full-time Education Abroad Coordinator is a position responsible for managing a portfolio of Education abroad programs and provides student support in the forms of student advising before, during, and after an international education experience. This position will also be involved with several special project teams related to the needs of the office. This is a full-time appointment subject to review and reappointment. This position reports to the Associate Director of Education Abroad.

 

Required Qualifications

 

1. Bachelor’s degree plus two years of student-centered advising experience
2. Demonstrated experience and engagement in international education
3. Strong program management experience in an office setting
4. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
