Members of the Fort Collins community connect on a common thread for the love of staying active and healthy. The 2nd annual Fort Collins Fitness Festival is back to celebrate health, wellness, and fitness while bringing our community together.
Rachel Pastor founded the Fort Collins Fitness Festival in order to “bring joy of health and fitness to people’s lives. No matter how you get there we are all coming together to celebrate that. If you do yoga, if you run, if you do crossFit, if you do chiropractic. All coming together to celebrate the joy that it brings to everyone.”
This year the festival will be taking place on Saturday, September 21st in downtown Fort Collins at Civic Center Park, Washington Park, Laporte, and Houz.
Start off the day with a 5k run with OrangeTheory Fitness. Check-in will be at 7:30 am and the race will run between 8-9am, finishing with an awards ceremony for the top finishers.
Then swing on over to the stage for some fun fitness classes!
No matter your fitness level, you’re guaranteed to find something you enjoy. This year on the FCFF stage, participate in a back-to-back medley of a variety of activities including a HIIT workout, yoga, pilates, a dance workout, and a boxing class! These classes will be led by top instructors including Shaun T, Veggie Lisa and Keith Mitchell plus local instructors as the day goes on.
Break free and get your groove on at 10:50-10:55am for the world’s largest flash mob dance! Everything at the festival will pause while you and your team get groovy to a fun synchronized dance! Learn the dance beforehand with this video, and get some extra practice time at The Agave Room on September 8th and 15th from 11:30am-12:30pm.
Also take part in the festival games! There will be some friendly strength and endurance competitions open to all who register beforehand in order to determine the assigned time you get to compete. Prizes will be gifted to categories including “best performance”, the gym with the most participation, first place winners, and so-on!
Take a break from working up a sweat and explore the 80 health and wellness vendors throughout the festival. These vendors are local to Fort Collins and provide will provide a unique experience based on health and wellness services.
The kids get to join in on the fun too! At the Kids Fit Zone at Washington Park kids will have the opportunity to participate in scheduled yoga classes, hiit classes, obstacle courses, bouncy house, and face painting. Parents are welcome to take part with their kids in these activities as well! Kids 12 and under are free.
All that exercise will have you working up an appetite! Grab a bite at the Beer Garden, concession stands, and local vendors at the festival.
After a jam-packed day of health, wellness, and spending time with the community be sure to stop the Recovery Zone. Wind down with Colorado Nutrition smoothies, IV therapy with Pure Drip and more!
