It’s our joy to report on another successful event executed in Fort Collins, and one that supports a wonderful, local organization: Partners Mentoring Youth.
The annual Houska Garage Band event took place on September 7 where friends, neighbors, and families could come together for a fun day of food, drinks, dancing, and fundraising! Thanks to all who participated, over $20,000 was raised for Partners Mentoring Youth.
Partners Mentoring Youth has been in northern Colorado since 1978 when a need became apparent. Community members in the 70s were seeing a large increase in youth offending, entering the Juvenile Justice system, and then re-offending. Inspired by a Denver youth mentorship program, the Partners Mentoring Youth of Larimer County was born. Now known as Partners Mentoring Youth and reaching both Larimer and Weld counties, the organization serves hundreds of youth each year.
Senior and junior partners spend one-on-one time with the youth in both school and community settings. This includes building friendships, participating in activities together, or even discovering new interests.
The Houska family has held the Garage Band Event for several years to support the children and adolescents of Fort Collins and the surrounding areas. Giving back has always been at the heart of the family-owned business. This year The Blues Dogs band played an amazing performance while families enjoyed the festivities in support of Partners Mentoring Youth!
Thank you to Houska Automotive, the many sponsors, and of course attendees who made the event such a success! Supporting the youth in our community directly improves the future of Fort Collins for generations to come.
