The Eye Center of Northern Colorado has true history with Fort Collins and began its medical practices more than a century ago! With a team that brings passion about their patients, The Eye Center offers professionals such as William Shachtman MD, an ophthalmologist who has been practicing for more than 50 years. As they have grown, they have remained true to their mission of supporting our amazing community.
In an effort to give back and contribute to the thriving culture Fort Collins has to offer, The Eye Center is involved with numerous local organizations and businesses, including the Downtown Fort Collins Business Association, CSU Athletics, The Colorado Eagles, The Gardens on Spring Creek, the Rotary Peach Festival, the Fort Collins Symphony, the Fort Collins Opera and more. Since the majority of The Eye Center doctors live in Fort Collins, there is a mutual and deep devotion to support friends, family and neighbors.
“The Eye Center has made it a mission to support the groups in Northern Colorado that support those in need,” said Patrick Rosen, Marketing Director of The Eye Center. “Through financial donations, in-kind donations, and our team volunteering around town, we have built a culture of giving that resonates through our entire staff.”
“One of our favorite things to do is to give the gift of sight to those in need. We support Ensight Skills Center, Disabled Resource Services to help those with severe vision needs, and we also donate LASIK/eye services annually to area nonprofits. One of the most rewarding events in town is Project Homeless Connect — we collect donated glasses from our LASIK patients who no longer need them, and then we offer free vision screenings and glasses to the area’s homeless community.”
The Eye Center of Northern Colorado is also continuously striving to set the paradigm for eyecare in Northern Colorado, amongst some of the best technology today, they have also participated in numerous FDA clinical research studies. These studies have allowed them to bring new technologies, treatments and medicines to Fort Collins.
“Eye Center was the first in the area to offer all-laser LASIK. We were also the first in the state to offer laser-assisted cataract surgery and multiple lifestyle lenses that are designed to reduce or eliminate a patient’s dependency on glasses or contacts,” commented Patrick.
